Tempo gas tank repair

One of my Tempo (red plastic) gas tanks has a 1" crack near one of the upper corners (on top). Can this be patched with JB weld or silicon? This is an above deck tank for an outboard motor,

Definately not silicon, maybe JB, better yet to replace, seems silly to burn up your boat or yourself to save 20-30 bucks.

scrap it and buy a new $18 tank.

Thanks for the input. Not trying to save money, just asking if there is a safe repair. It is actually an $85.00 tank (12 gal).

Get new...never take a chance with gas tank that cracked.....
