hi there,we took our boat out for run and 5 minutes into our voyage the alarm sounded continuosly .because it was a bit rough we just came back in[motor ran sweet,it didn't seem to be hot, water flowing out of spitter]. i started up motor the next day and the alarm was still sounding.so i disconected the temp censor wire[tan with blue stripe] and alarm went off im guessing the censor is faulty but not sure if motor over heated at all.i tried touching water flowing out of spitter and it was warm but not hot.any body out there have any advice?

If the next time you started it with the sensor plugged in and the alarm went off knowing it is cold the sensor would be my guess. The sensor when good will not sound until it reaches a certain tempature. when they go bad they ground out creating constant contact.

Pull the t-stat and check that it and carrier housing are not clogged as this will cause engine to overheat. The "P" indicator is on the exhaust side and is before t-stat so it could show a good water flow and block still be restricted from water. If it happens when you turn on the key it could be a bad sensor.
