Tell Tale...sometimes yes, sometimes no.

I have a 1989 9.9 Evinrude that every once in a while won't push water out of the tell tale. Normally if I shut it off and restart it it will push water, some times I have to do it a couple times. Can these things get air locked? Any cure for it?

When was impeller replaced ? -----Most folks wait too long to replace that $20.00 item.------That hose plugs up easily and then clears itself.

It could be clogged or partially clogged but if i were you i would be changing the water pump.

Its such an easy job, and an inexpensive job its not worth not doing.

Thanks, I think I'll do that. As for if it was done lately, not sure...I just bought it.
