teleflex steering question

Hi, I have a boston whaler, '72 13' sport, with the original cable pully steering which I would like to replace with a teleflex system. Can someone point me in the right direction regarding sizing, installation tips, parts needed e.t.c? Thanks, R.

If your motor has a tilttube or steering tube then installation will be pretty straightforward. Here's a pic http://www.inkbox.net/whaler/parts/steering-arm.jpg

If you have an old motor with no hollow tilt tube, leave the cable/pulley steering in the boat. It is the better system for those old motors. Of course, if you have a newer motor with a tilt tube, converting to a Teleflex push-pull system is the way to go. iboats sells it.
