teleflex dual steering help

I have,what I feel,is too much free play in the middle of the steering spectrum.when im running my bassboat,straight,i can turn the wheel to @10 o`clock and 2`oclock w/out any change and no tension felt.then it turns fine,both ways.is there an adjustment that can be made?I can live w/it,but would like to have a smaller amt. of play.thanks

A push pull system or do both cables travel in the same direction?

A push pull can be adjusted.

not sure,exactly.i would guess pull/pull,but dont know.i know its on a cajun bassboat,its on an 88 black max 150 xr4,two cables go into right side of motor(looking from behind),two silver rods come out other side,on end of those is a kinda coupler which pivots.hope im being descriptive enough.have,also,the bill from previous owner when it was replaced in 2001.says teleflex nfb dual steering.hope it helps.

Absolutely contact teleflex........ NFB systems have special mechanisms inside and maybe something is worn or let go
