td 20 id year please

My son just obtained a sea horse td 20 serial number is 511802. Can someone help us to id the year this engine was built. It has been stored many years and appears to be seized could this be from being stored so long ??

td-20's were mid 40's motors. Not worth a lot. I belong to the Antique Outboard motor club and you can pick them up for free sometimes at meets. It's most likely stuck from sitting, but not worth trying to fix. Best off parting it out

Thanks I did'nt think it was worth much in term's of $'s but my son is 13 and love's to tinker in the shop. We have found out it is a 5 hp from 46-49 but do not know how to ID the year of manufacture from the serial #. He has been trying to find all the info he can on this motor he also has a 20 hp mercury for his next project.. THANK'S for all the info you can and have provided....
