I just finished my first boat. The Tango Skiff 14ft. Thanks to all that gave advice. I installed a 15hp and it now sits on a trailor waiting for its maiden voyage. It has been raining and about 38 degrees.

No kit but I think they are going to start making kits. I bought the plans for it from Tango Skiff .com. He sends you a great book with directions. It was fun to build and I learned alot. Didn't break the bank either.

Kel,

I was at the Wooden Boatshow in Georgetown SC in October and there was a Tango 14 on display (actually I think there were two or three). What a great boat, I particularly like the transom design that extends the running surface aft of the outboard, being a Trim Tab guy I was very interested in it.

Here are the photos I took of the boat:

I hope you post after you get her out on the water and tell us how she handles.

I sure will if you got to NC boat builder .com the guy who built that boat put up several videos of it running in the water. The temp here in va is going to be highs of 30's all week. But soon as it breaks I will be on the river:)

Re: Tango skiff

Im on the James river near Richmond Va. As I crossed over the river today on my way to work it was starting to freeze over and they are calling for snow followed by ice tonight.... Looks like its going to be awhile before I can give her a try. I did get my title and numbers today so now I'm legal:)

Holy smokes, it sounds like you guys are getting Canadian weather down there! My boating season ended last Monday when our river froze over... :(
