I recently purchased a 1983 cheetah with a 115 evinrude. I took it out to make sure it would float before I redo the floor and carpeting. There's a 2 x 2 hole in the floor now needing replaced. After about an hour on the lake the entire bilge drain was flooded with water and about 10 inches high in the transom gas and battery area. I know I took on quite a bit of water when slowing the boat down but not that much! Any ideas on the issue?

By the way. It has 1 live well in the back with a hose running from the regulator and another hose leading to a hole on transom. It has two hoses under the gas tank, one leading to a hole in the transom and one dangling free. It has a well of some sort in the front of the boat with just 1 hose running to the outside of the boat. I've plugged all these as I've no need to fish out of it until I'm sure it's water ready and won't leave me sinking.

Well fiberglass boats just don't leak unless you have a hole or crack somewhere below the water line ..
Good chance the water is coming from the live well system somehow ..Inspect the hull bottom all over looking for anything that may let water in just to rule that out ..
Btw stupid question but you did have all the plugs in right ? It happens ..
