Re: Tahoe Q6 trollimg motor and fish finder help

When installing an after market transducer below the motor you will have problrms with false readings because there is a void between the inner liner and the outer hull. Factory installed there is a hole thru the inner liner so that the transducer contacts the outer hull. Reading install instruction will explain this.It appears in the pics that this is installed on the inner surface??

Re: Tahoe Q6 trollimg motor and fish finder help

I ended up installing a Lowrance 337c that I purchased from Ebay. I had to buy some NMEA 2000 conectors to get it all hooked up. I tried it out about 2 weeks ago and it worked fine. The only thing I had to do was adjust the surface noise setting. I am still working on getting the trolling motor set up. I am deciding between the wireless unit or the hand controlled that came with the boat. I have seen pictures of the newer Tahoe's with the wireless unit as an option. I am wondering if Tahoe has an adapter plate that they use to install the wireless unit using the same mount as the hand controlled?

Hey Mccownck, Let me know when you figure the trolling motor out. I have the same exact problem. Purchased a Q6 fish & ski with no trolling motor. I don`t even have the original adapter plate. If you go wireless and use a different adapter plate, let me know. I may be interested in purchsing the original adapter plate from you , if I don`t go wireless.:) johnnygmd@hotmail.com

I will contact the manufacturer and see what's what. I'll post the results here.

Re: Tahoe Q6 trollimg motor and fish finder help

I contacted Tahoe, they directed me to the parts dept. (Bass Pro parts) and no real help there. They suggested I call motorguide or the trolling motor doctor( a website and trolling motor store) for more help. Still researching.....

I am still working on it. I ordered the W55 wireless motor and will have to get a new plate or have the "old style" plate modified.

MC

I have a 2007 Q6... the original owner had the trolling motor and mounting stolen. I ordered the original style mounting plate from Tahoe and bought a W55 54" Motor Guide trolling motor. I fretted all winter on how to mount it - last week I pulled everything out and it was much easier than I thought. The W55 has a mounting plate included... I bolted this plate with 4.5" overhanging the Tahoe plate - I did have to notch the base of the trolling motor for the bolts that I used to mount the plate to plate. Here are some pictures. Took it to the lake last week and was delighted with the results.

I can see why they get stolen. Thats alot of money just sitting there. I just ordered the plate $250.00 and that w55 I saw was $650.00 . I will definately be taking mine off anytime the boat is unattended!!!!!;)

Loks like we are posting the same stuff on a different thread. Thanks for the pics. Once I get my mounting plate figured out, I should be good to go. $250.00 for a piece of aluminum, what a racket!
