I bought a Mercury 50hp 1979, can i connect a tachometer for this motor? The connection is on the Mercontrol and the wires seems to be connect to the stator.
Yup its a 3 female prong connection on the MerControl. 1 wire is the tach signal 1 wire is the 12V positive and 1 wire is the ground. If I remember correctly it is brown=tach signal white=positive and black=negative
Ok great! I have check on Ebay for a tachometer, i must set the switch on the back to the right position for 4 or 6 cylinders and for the right pulse. Thanks for the information.
