If the ICM (Ignition Control Module) is bad, then I don't blame you for wanting to go to the EST. The module costs more than the complete EST Kit, let alone the aditional cost of the sensor in the TB distributor.
Thunderbolt IV and V are good systems when they work, but they just cost too much to fix. That and the EST is what General Motors used with that engine.
