If the ICM (Ignition Control Module) is bad, then I don't blame you for wanting to go to the EST. The module costs more than the complete EST Kit, let alone the aditional cost of the sensor in the TB distributor.
Thunderbolt IV and V are good systems when they work, but they just cost too much to fix. That and the EST is what General Motors used with that engine.

Cool. Thanks for all the help Don and bond-o. Next step will be to order the kit and start putting it in. I'll let you know if I have any problems putting it in. Thanks for everything.

Re: T Bolt IV to MSD Ignition

Might have found a new route for the ignition system. A buddy of mine just gave me a marine distributor from Performance Distributors in Tenn. I called them to figure out what it was that i have and it turns out that its a DUI Marine distributor which was set up for a 431 which looks like a Ford. for $45 they can change out the weights and springs and set it up for my CBB454. After a new drive gear and some performance plug wires and i think i might be ready to go. just three wires. one power, and the NEG goes to the TACH which i think also splices off to the shift interuptor(anyone kow where i can find it?). Any thoughts anyone?

If this distributor was built for a Ford, I don't see how they will make it work for your Chevy, unless they swap the whole distributor for you. The distributor body, shaft, gear, etc will be different. Only thing in common between the DUI distributors is the module, and GM style HEI cap/coil.

If it's like a standard HEI, typically would be 2 wires, but can run with one. B+ at the cap, ground through the distributor body to the block, and you can put your tach wire on the TACH terminal of the cap.

I thought your boat has a Bravo drive?

This is what you're looking at, right?

Yes, that is the website. That what i was worried about, but i just called to make sure it wasn't from a ford engine and was told that it was used in a bored out chevy block. Yup just like the HEU, just two wires. Yes I do have a Bravo One, those this mean i don't have a shift interuptor?
