SWIVEL FITTING ON PORTABLE TANK LEAKING

The threads that connect the swivel fitting to the tank are stripped out, and leak. I've tried thread tape, and pipe dope, and nothing helps. Can a new hole be drilled into the tank and a new fitting added? thx
