Does anybody have a good idea on how to fix these handles?

Both handles started coming loose last summer. Unfortunately I can’t access bottom side of the hull integrated swim platform from the engine compartment. It’s beyond the stern is wall of the engine area. I suspect these were installed when the top and bottom of the hull were assembled.

I was thinking of finding top mounted handles and covering the existing mounts but haven’t found any yet.

take a picture on the bottom side of the swim platform.

you may need to add access portals

the welds broke on the stud where it was welded to the handle.

Are you sure you can't access inside the swim platform? I have an '06 Q6 and my swim platform is hollow and I can see the bottom of the bolts you're describing. This winter I plan to replace my ladder with a 4-step and plan to make a jig to reach way back into the swim platform to remove and replace the nuts. It helps if you can find a wiry 10 year old to get down into the engine compartment. :)
