Swap out stern drives

I have a mercruiser alpha 1 gen 2 on a 5.7 v8 searay. Is it possible to take a alpha1 gen 2 from a v6 and put on my v8. If not are the gimbal bearings the same size.

being that both are GEN II`s they will just bolt on. just be aware that the gear ratios will/may be different

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... Physically, dimensionally, they're Exactly the same, both drive, 'n bearin'....

You'll need a prop with 'bout 6 more inches of pitch to hold the rpms down....
