I am trying to figure out if I can swap lower units off of a Johnson 70ESL 75E to a 85ESL 73M.......what do you think? Linkages are different at the powerhead.....prop shafts are identical. Thanks, Tim

Looking at it I say If the HP is 50 to 75 your ok But nor interchangable for a 85HP
85HP part # 385560--- 75 Part # 385561
Ok thanks, probably a difference @ the splines into the powerhead.....I have not taken the motors apart yet. Poor engineering to uncouple the shift rods, any suggestions to make it easier? Thanks, Tim
