suzuki dt25 spark problem

Hi I have just got a Dt25 and only have spark on the bottom cyclinder???? Ideas

Swap your coils over if you can and see if the problem moves with it, for starters.
If it does you have a broken coil, coil leads or sparkplug

Post the year and model number if you can too so people can see what model you mean to help out

Thanks for your fast reply :joyous: the only numbers i can see on it are 02503 301773
Have swapped the plugs and that is not the problem. Both the plug leads go to the coil which is a single unit and looks like it is filled with resin so there is no way to swap coils etc. Any help will be much appricated.

If it is a single coil it must be a waist spark ignition.
Both plugs fire at every revolution , one on compression and the other on exhaust.
How did you test for spark?
Inline spark tester would be the best..
Could be a bad plug

Thanks for your reply. Is not the plug because if i swap them the other plugs works and the one that was does not. I am testing the spark by turning the light's of the in the garage and pulling the start cord. The bottom plug will spark 15-20 times but the top one does not at all. Does anyone know if there is two coils that are encolsed in the resin or just one??? I can email photo's to anyones email if that will help ?? Also how can i tell what year the motor is by the serial no?

I make those numbers out to be year 83
