Suzuki dt2 no spark

Hi all I have a 80s Suzuki dt2 with a points system. This outboard had sunk and I got everything squared away with it but someone had messed with the timing and now can’t get spark. I adjusted the timing back to where I think it should be and moved the magnets so that it’s touching the coil. Still no spark when I crank it over. Any advice? Thanks again

old school was to use a business card between the magnet and the coil iron

I set the magnets to the right distance but still can’t seem to get a spark , any ideas ? Thanks

all of the old school motors I have dealt with that had points also had a condenser.
make sure it is good, and make sure the points open and close as they should and are not burned up (make good electrical contact)
