I have a 1997 Bayliner 1950 Capri with a 3L mercruiser. On the port side I have an intake grill for engine fresh air and on starboard I have an exhaust grill for the blower. The "dryer vent" hose is 3" and quite flimsy. When installed is bends over on itself, collapsing and rendering itself useless. Anyone run into this? Is there a better product out there that I can put in that holds its form better as it snakes itself to and from the engine compartment? Thanks

I just installed this hose from Trident. It was stronger than the flimsy dryer vent hose and was good stuff. The price wasn't that nice compared to the flimsy dryer vent, but I guess you get what you pay for. It's out of stock here at Iboats, but there are other online sites that carry it. https://www.google.com/search?q=trident+481+polyduct+blower+hose&rlz=1C1GCEA_enUS964US964&sxsrf=AOaemvKp508u7v4p_QOW-xyJ7rFCYrGUsQ:1632253020397&ei=XDRKYZvMF-2FggezlIKYCA&oq=TRIDENT+POLYDUCT+BLOWER+HOSE&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAEYADIHCAAQRxCwAzIHCAAQRxCwAzIHCAAQRxCwAzIHCAAQRxCwAzIHCAAQRxCwAzIHCAAQRxCwAzIHCAAQRxCwAzIHCAAQRxCwA0oECEEYAFAAWABg6fIOaAFwAngAgAEAiAEAkgEAmAEAyAEIwAEB&sclient=gws-wiz
You ain’t kidding, thanks for the info

Is it possible to shorten it take out some of the slack?
That might stop it from kinking.

Maybe the existing hose is not of the marine variety.
Someone might have replaced it in the past with ordinary dryer vent hose.
