Does anyone have any suggestions for a good quality, reasonable priced engine builder?
I am going to have to replace the engine in my 90 Carver. It currently has a Volvo Penta 570. I have been looking at Jasper, US Engine, Rapido Marine. Any comments on these builders or suggestions for someone that is better.

Thanks, very good read. A crate motor may be the best value.

I would suggest that you give serious consideration to a new crate engine as well. Read this post:
reman story

Note the guy in the post above went the rebuild route... and then proceeded to replace everything that was questionable. I'm not saying that's a bad thing to do, but if you know or suspect that up front, then you can do your homework and save quite a bit of money. Plus, you know what you are getting versus a rebuilt.
