How large was the hole and where was it? On the pump housing? side, top?

The hole was a perfect little hole as if it was drilled. It was about 1/16 of an inch, and it was right in the middle of the side of the housing. I'll take pictures of it to post it.

i'm glad to see one of our members is knowledgable about water not pumping. so far, i haven't gotten to first base: i can't get the lower unit off. it;s hung up on the shift rod. do i have to sdisconnect it under the carburetor. i have an 8 hp 2 stroke Yammie.

As to the 150 not peeing, we've stopped running 25" or 30" Yamahas on flush muffs. They just can't get enough water that way. We always back tyhem into the test tank, and all's well with the world.

As to the 8HP, the shift connection is at the bottom of the steering swivel, forward side. You'll need two 10MM open-end wrenches.
