Ahoy seafarers I have a 84 four winns horizon I e almost been able to resurrect from a backyard of forgotten dreams.im no mechanic of sorts and I'm having trouble with getting the boat to crank over fast enough to start ..good battery clean connections and rebuit starter twice over .motor is struggling to turn over I had it running for a bit before the pandemic and had to step away from project for financial reasons .this boat is the only thing I was able to keep after the pandemic and I'm determined to fix it with out having to take it to some one so I'm humbly asking for help I believe the wiring is crossed up somewhere or a ground wire I'm not seeing any recommendations please .

You have to be more specific about what you are working on

Like scott says, you need to provide more info. Engine make/model specifically helps. Serial numbers are best

Check for water on dipstick. If none, pull distributor and use engine oil primer. Drain al the old gas. You may have to clean out gas filters. If water in block, check for block cracks. If cracks, look for another motor.

Here's what I would try, First remove the belt(s) and try cranking to see if the alternator or something else is dragging. Check the ground connection at the motor side of the cable and the actual cables themselves. Should probably try replacing the starter instead of rebuilding it.
