Stuck lower unit

There should be a roll pin on the top of the shift rod, under the carbs. Not sure how one could drive it out, to free the upper shift rod, but that is better than pulling the shift cam out of the gearbox.

You dont have all the nuts off....
1 under torque tab
2 under AV plate above prop
2 on sides
1 on front

One pic shows the front center nut and port side. The other side is identical and the 4th bolt is at the back, under the trim tab

The other pic shows how much gap I have managed

You dont have all the nuts off....
1 under torque tab
2 under AV plate above prop
2 on sides
1 on front
Interesting. What I see under the AV plate do not look like the have slot for screwdriver or shoulders for wrench.
How do I access them?

Closer inspection proves you to be spot on. An odd type of nut to me but I found a socket that got them off and the LU quickly followed.
