So here is my story lol, changed the lower shift cable without any problems, when tested out of the water it would work fine, locks into forward gear, reverse, neutral as it should. test if out of the water with the water muffs attached to the lower unit and have it running, again pops into forward/reverse/neutral as it should.
Now bring into the water, is the issue, starts all good, pops into forward no problem ill be runnning for a while then when im going to dock ill pop it in reverse as needed and once i put it in netutral and forward gear again while docking so at low rpm it stays in reverse, ill push back into neutral and then forward again and all it does is increase power in while still in reverse.
So ill kill the engine give it a for 15 seconds and leave it in neutral, then while engine off ill go test it and again the prop locks into place as needed.
Then this issue, engine starts and either it will go into a forward without a hitch or it will stay in neutral and just increase the throttle but not click into gear, if I put it back in neutral and push it in full forward and hard/fast it will click hard into gear and runs fine.
Ive tried adjusting and it i have the lower shift cable measuring exactly 6 inches and have it pushed all the way in when doing this measurement, lock it in place and then install the upper cable while in forward gear and make it fit tight, so not sure if im making sense here, but any help would be appre
