Stuck Defective Grease Fitting on Lower Unit

The original grease fitting ball is buggered up and rusted. I have a SS replacement fitting. Looking for tips on removing, I'm thinking some Kroil to soak, then some heat and then using a grease fitting removal combination tool with its wrench and extractor and tap if needed. Thanks in advance for recommendations.

The thread pitch on grease fittings is 1/4”-28. You will need a bottoming tap to clear the threads. A starting tap will end up damaging the threads because of the pointed starting feature.

Just keep in mind that your dealing with a steel fitting in a much softer aluminum housing.
It will not take much to remove the fitting one way or the other....

Im with Chris and locking pliers vice grip .Some heat wouldn't hurt.Charlie
