Strong exhaust smells

98 5.0 mercruiser efi. Just doesn't seem to have the pep that I had last year. I'm noticing a really strong gas smell in the exhaust. Maybe running to rich? Looking for opinions, she might just be getting tired I don't know.

Not firing on all 8? Sticky float in the carb? That year should be an electric fuel pump so not worried about a torn diaphragm in a mechanical pump.

low on power and exhaust smell, would lead me to check to see if its firing all cylinders like Rick mentioned.

Thanks Rick and Scott I will check that for sure. We spent the day out today, definitely notice a difference in my hole shot. Takes a lot longer to come to plane.
