what is the proper way to reinforce stringers? i have a 1978 Regal CC the stringers need to be reinforced they are weak at the bottom. is there a way to stiffen them up without having to cut them out and replace them?
Sounds to me you need to replace them but I'm Not a expert. If they are weak on the bottom then I would think that the whole stinger is shot.Someone else will sound in shortly.
Tim, It will be hard to protect the repair from rot, if you do not remove all the rot from the existing stringers. Once you chop out all the rot, you can sister up new stringers to the originals, and glass 'em together.
