So I’ve had it apart before and it was my understanding the pickup tube stayed behind when the lower unit is pulled off. Does this leave me having to pull the power head to replace the tube? It's you water tube leaking. You have to remove the lower unit and while you're at it replace the water pump and grommet.
No sir, you do have to release the shifter pin to release the lower unit though. So I’ve had it apart before and it was my understanding the pickup tube stayed behind when the lower unit is pulled off. Does this leave me having to pull the power head to replace the tube?

You have water coming out the exhaust snorkels but I can't see the tell tale. Is that a good stream?
Through all the diy videos I’ve never seen that leakage on any of them that’s where my concern came from. That " leakage " might be normal.
I think your probably okay, if your not overheating than maybe a piece of crud is diverting some of the water to that opening.Through all the diy videos I’ve never seen that leakage on any of them that’s where my concern came from.
