Just noticed on my 50hp evinrude the tilt sticks when going down untill you press the switch on the lever and stops it. I replaced what I remember as an up and down (actuator??) on a chrysler motor I had a few yrs ago. It wouldnt go down at all ,advised to replace both.Easiest OB fix I ever did. Does this on the Evinrude sound like the same?? Daveydoodle.

Sounds like a bad switch or relay.

Re: Sticking trim and tilt.

Is the switch or relay sound like what I desc. on the chrysler. There was two plug in on rear port side, one for up and one for down, simply pull out elec. connections and replace with new. Think they were about 25.00 a piece. Did this 5 yrs. ago, memory a little water logged since. Havent pulled off cowel to look yet..
