stern drive tilt solenoids..

I have 2 bad drive tilt/lift/lower solenoids.....can i replace these with ford fender mounted start solenoids?

I find it very hard to believe that 2 seperate solenoids went bad at the same time. No matter what they are on.

using the switch they both click but do nothing....jump directly to the motor...stern lifts and lowers fine.

Automotive electrical components in marine applications can be dangerous. It might be okay, but a blown-up boat is hardly worth the risk of saving a few bucks.
