Steering wheel up side down...

Not sure how long this has been like this, but when going straight the steering wheel is up side down. Is this a pain in the butt to fix? Do I have to disconnect all the steering cables to fix? It has allen screws holding the wheel on & I was just going to take them out & spin the wheel right side up. It has been this way since I got it last year so I don't know how it came to be in the first place. How long should it take to disconnect steering cables & reconfigure? Not that it really matters, but the boat is 17' Bayliner bowrider w/ O/B.

I popped my center cap, unbolted the steering wheel, pulled it off and placed it back on the hub in the proper position and reinstalled. I'm not sure of your exact setup, but worked fine on 2 boats for me.

If you have the splined hub Jayrodoh has the solution. If you have the type that has a pin, you have no additional choices. If you have a rack and pinion steering system, you can dismantle it, rotate the wheel (with the gears separated) and put everything back together....big chore in my opinion and then if you are off a gear or two, your wheel will be cocked to one side or the other and still not be straight up and down. On the rotary setup probably the same thing....gotta get the wheel shaft and cable gears separated to effect the change.
