Welcome to iboats, Bob.<br />Remove the nut connecting it to the engine. On the sides of the tube that the silver shaft run thru at the motor, there are large nuts. Unscrew these,and carefully pull back the felt inserts (So they dont bind).<br />Once this is done, you should be able to pull the silver shaft out of the tube. If not,well then, there ya go...<br />You will have to drive it out,without buggering-up the threads on the end, or bending the shaft.<br />To do this, try lots of liquid wrench,WD40, or other lossener-upper.<br />Use a rubber mallet if you got one. If not, use a block of 2x4 stud to place on the end of the shaft, and drive it out.<br />Let me know how it goes,and I'll 'splain how to restore it to proper operation.
