I have an 1983 60hp evinrude and was wondering if it is possible the increase the steering drag? I cannot find an adjustment screw if there is one could you guys point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Chris
I am surprised that the parts list does indeed show a fricion adjustment on that model. It looks like you should be able to hunker down and see it if you look dead-center right above the transom. Or possibly you have to tilt the motor and look underneath. Dunno.

The steering friction is only avaliable on tiller models. There is a note #1 on the parts diagarm that indicates this. The note is not on the BRP parts website.
There is no way to increase the steering friction on your motor.
