Steering Cable Length? 22' SuperSport

The steering cable on my 22' SuperSport O/B needs to be replaced and I forgot to measure it before I covered the boat for the winter... could anybody help me out? I have searched the forums but no luck...I am kinda new at this forum thing

I can help maybe, I have a '79 SuperSport V-5 O/B. Not sure if you have the standard hull or the V-5, maybe it doesn't matter. Anyway, my steering cable is hanging on the wall of my garage and I can measure it out for you. I'm pretty busy tonight and tomorrow night, but I have Thursday night through the upcomining weekend reserved to work on the boat. I'll let ya know.

Nice boat! Yours is the standard hull being it's a '77. I should have time tomorrow night to get that measurement. How fast will it go and what size is that Merc?

its a 1971 115hp 6cyl. merc, Ive had it up to 42mph according to my gps. I dont have tilt/trim on the boat, i locatated a unit and will install it in the spring. i figured out it was a standard when i was looking at your boat, awesome boat by the way, i see alot of simularities im our boats, I know i will find your resto thread great for reference as i pick away at mine.

That is exactly what I was looking for. you just saved me from having to crawl around in the snow, one my least favorite things to do, and now i can get a jump on things and be ready for spring.
