Stator hook up

Can you hook up a stator backwards? If you switch the wires to coils would it affect anything? 175 mercury black max 2 stroke. High speed to high speed and low speed to low speed. Are they interchangeable as far as which pack the stator goes to as long as red is red blue is blue? A have red/white. Blue/white. I figured it wouldn’t matter as ling as blue is blue and red is red? Does it matter?

I will answer your question with a question as I truly don't know. If it didnt matter, then why would the manufacture use different colored wires?

My wires going to the power packs are just red blue with no white stripe. My cdi staor has red blue and red blue with white stripe. Its like which plain red blue do i attatch white stripe from stator to? Im 95 percent sure i have it right but i figured some pros in here could tell me if it really matters. I didnt know if a two stroke had a specific firing order dictated from stator or if it didnt matter. I cant find any info anywhere.
