Starts buy turns off

Hey guys. So my mercruiser 140 will start. But as soon as the key goes from start, back to run the motor dies. Any ideas?

Check the ignition switch.

Check connections at plus side of coil..Sounds like bad resistor wire or block....Should have 12v or battery voltage at plus side of coil cranking and about 8-10 volt with key turned to on.

We ran a bypass wire from ignition to coil and it ran. Just gotta find where the bad connect/ part of wire is and replace
