I just installed a new starter and it worked fine. Bilge failed and starter was partially submerged.Starter now acts as if I have a dead battery w/ a loud click. Any ideas?

take it apart and clean it, it sounds like a bad connection.

Or totally destroyed being that the battery was connected to it.

Ayuh,... Saltwater, or Freshwater,..??

In Freshwater you have a 10% chance of saving it, by disassembling,+ cleaning...
Saltwater,... It's JUNK...

Fresh water and it was only in about 1-2 inches of water. It did turn over and start once then after that it just clicks. I'm going to start w/ batt cables, they look rough. I'm not convinced 1-2 inches of h20 is going to wreck a starter. Just think of our cars and trucks.
