what is going on that when i go to start my motor, the starter engages and cranks , but after maybe 1-2 seconds it stops and you can hear it wind down....I will wait a second of two till the spinning stops and I try it again...cranks then releases the flywheel, and winds down...its like the juice is being shut off after 1-2 seconds...but the battery is fully charged, and eventually the the motor fires over...
i am wondering is the issue maybe in the solenoid, or is it in the ignition switch, or is it in the windings in the starter???
I had some rpm issues with this starter last winter...so i am thinking, its the starter-starter solenoid combo...but before i take it out.... i thought id ask.
i have two big batteries wire together, and fully chargerd...all the connections were cleaned, and are tight...
I remmeber this happening on my 2001 50 hp as well....vrmmmmmm, vrmmmmmm dieing out....even though the key is still held to start!!! you can hear the starter motor wind down....uits like its getting a second of electricty and then none..
anyone??
thanks
