Hello. I'm getting my starter rebuilt at shop but they want to know what engine does my OMC 4.3l is compatible with in the automotive world. chevy?
Boat is a 1987 Sea Ray s19
Thank you
It is a 4.3 Chevy engine. Used in thousands of GM vehicles. This starter fits both v-6 and V-8 Chevy engines. Please make sure your starter is rebuilt to marine specs!!!!! Do not under any circumstances use a automotive starter in your boat!!!!
do yourself a favor and upgrade from the large direct drive starter to the new PMGR starters. you can get them new for marine applications for about $90
I agree with Scott, don't waste time or money on an old style starter . The new PMGR starters are the way to go...... whether for cars ,boats , trucks , they are just so much better
