I had a starter failure in a 40 HP tohatsu 4 stroke bought new in 2017. The mechanic claims low voltage as the cause, but the batteries are OK Has anybody experienced this problem?
A poor connection can cause low voltage. The starter draws a lot of current (amps). Any starter could fail if the batteries were low and you continued to try cranking. You are in warranty.
