Re: Starcraft owner finally? Yes!

Rick thanks, but that leads me to another question. By dry weight (boat only) is that minus motor and outdrive? Or just minus fuel, gas and gear?

Andy yeah I agree but it doesn?t seem that heavy, close to my 900 lb Arima. A whole lot lighter that the Sea ray.

Oooooooooooooooh Ok Jeff thts differant 951 pounds for an I/O setup dry no trailer :D. Although I have no idea how a 4 cylinder motor and outdrive only weigh 100 pounds thts what the brochure says :D.

I was wondering the same thing, figured it was a mistake.

Jeff & Rick. The difference of only 100 lbs is probably due to differences in construction of the boat.

Thanks North Beach.

Hey North Beach, did you use all of the two gallons of system three on you're deck?

Jeff, I didn't even use half. And I had 2 gals of part A and one of part B. or vice versa, I cant remember.

I should probably explain my comment above. These danged boats varied a pretty good bit weight wise from one year to the next. Also, the danged splashwells have a bunch more structure to them than the I/O models. That's prob where the additional weight is.

NB your right Ididnt take into account the differance between the Splashwell on the outboard versus the simple flat aluminum on the I/O setup. :D

Thanks again North Beach, I am just trying to figure out how much epoxy I will need for my deck.

So one gallon of A and a half gallon of B should be plenty for my 18'?

I'm finally finished scrounging parts from the Sea Ray. Now I need to get an alignment tool, some wood, epoxy, glass mat and some gluvit. Then I can get started on the Star Craft.

Re: Starcraft owner finally? Yes!

wvmedic congrats on the SS...I was on vacation when you started this thread and just saw it for the first time. That is one nice looking rig...I had been eyeballing that boat on craigslist for a while and waiting for it to drop into my price range...LOL...I guess you took care of that:D

Funny, that's two SS's now that have been bought in Michigan by iboats members from out of state within the last few months. One guy came from Illinois. We as a state(a broke state LOL) are going to have to put tariffs on exports to keep some of those classic gems right here where they belong:D...just kidding

Good luck on the project...glad to hear she floats and runs:)
