SC didn't make any cabin boats with such small side windows or short cabin, 64's pic is just the right angle to hide the mutilation, while the one I snipped from the ad still shows the chunk cut out of the cabin roof.

Also in my pic, the front of the cabin is over the bow rail and bow light. I think the pieces are holding each other up.

This could make a closed bow runabout similar to the Liquid Limo, only OB.

I always thought those Volvo 270 outdrives were supposed to be ok :cold: At least they ain't OMC that most everyone hates lol.
Was kinda surprised to see a twin setup locally, usually just twin OBs unless it's a maga expensive millionaire's playtoy CC

I think the early Volvo motors are running low on spare parts. Mostly the marine/marinized parts like exhaust risers & manifolds, etc. I don't know about the drives themselves.

Looks like they were both offered in '70, but I can't get a clear enough view of the brochure to see what the differences were.
I may be wrong....
I thought the Chieftain had a closed in cabin and the Starchief didnt have the cabin bulkhead, it was just open. But the SC 1970 brochure shows they both had the cabin bulkhead.

Difference appears to be full galley in the Chieftain, no sink, refrig and etc in the Starchief.

No interior pix in the ad, but the ad is probably accurate

Doesn't seem a bad price. The Chieftain I'm going to bring home that are asking more and needs much more work.
I hate when people can't upload the pictures straight :/

Dont forget its an 18ft 6in I/O w a soft spot on the deck. Probably has more. Which begs the question:

Got hull/chine/rib end cracks?

If its running, and no obvious cracks, yep, reasonable ;)

In my area even little 14' blender boats are listed at $700+. For soft spots in the deck, I pretty much assume everything I would look at here in NY will have them, whether the owner discloses it or not. It's pretty much normal habit around here to leave boats uncovered......all the time
I don't know if the really high number of lakes we have here dictates high prices or what, the sellers probably know that someone will want their boat due to easy and close lake access for everyone.
