He's got quite a few ads in the area, this one has more pictures with it. Someone down there should do some hagglin with him...

I wish these guys would show a $600 receipt for scrapping one of these. It just doesn't happen!

The trailer looks pretty shaky and judging by the rotted helm, the rest is mulch too. I bet his reasonable offer is north of a grand.

Lets see, Magnum got about $200 for a bigger islander in scrap. I dont know what scrap is going for in NJ, but I always love sellers that add huge scrap value numbers to their ads.

Magnum got the highest scrap rate possible flr his Islander, 100% clean metal in 2ft X 2ft pieces.

No way w the huge drop in scrap prices that Chief is 600, even w a 6cyl I/O and the trailer.

For a boat thats, shall we say, rough

Yeah, Mag is only one I know of with a scrap value. We had a couple more that went to beer cans, but I don't remember if they shared.

Yep ^^^

Now that I think about it, wasnt it more like 125 for his Islander?

At nearly the peak of the scrap market?

His other ads say $550. Yeah his scrap estimate is way off, a friend of mine owns a scrap yard and he's having a hard time selling it off no matter what material. Looks like it about $.48 per pound.
Someone down there should give him a true estimate of scrap value and make him a more reasonable offer, for the boat alone. If the hull is good it should be saved. He could keep the trailer.
But his "needs a little TLC will be ready for the water" is delusional lol.

Yeah you're right John, jeez how could I have missed that! :stupid:

A guy would have to be super lucky to find one of those hatches like I did, from the infamous Jas "Bowlander".

Or maybe have the metalworking tools to make it
And I've seen the outstanding work many of you guys have done to save boats

Yah, that was just a drive by. It's good to see that guys are still using and abusing this specific thread, one of my favorites!

I'll need to swing by again when the ice moves out. Hoping the Islander will get in the game and see some action:becky::encouragement:

Rock on guys:rockon:
