I think you should invite GA to meet you at the sellers house. Look at the boat. Take GA out to a nice dinner. Figure out a way to work it out and go back to the sellers house.

So you're really saying that I should increase the offer to two cases of beer?

Okay, so maybe you're not cheap, but are ya easy?

And I have to admit, from what I've read on the GA website, it sounds like GA is definitely easygoing when it comes to getting vessels registered. Pretty much like "Why sho' nuff honey, jus' come on ova heah and we'll get y'all signed up, bless yer heart."

Not at all like it is here! :whip:

I really have it bad for this boat. But maybe I was a bit impatient when...

I photo-painted it to match my truck!

And added the twins! :bounce:

This guy has it bad fellas
Hey, it's all your fault with that magnificent Chieftain of yours! I'd been looking at Islanders before reading your thread.

And it doesn't help that the seller emailed me a significant price reduction to boot!

I could use some of that savings to pay a go-between to help out. Hmmm... :biggrin-new:

Haha! You sly guy. But I already figured that one out!

All three guys go to the registration office together. Seller, GA resident (whoever that may be, not necessarily GA_Boater) and me. Do the multiple exchange right there in the office. And use the Georgia Certified True Bill of Sale for Vessel form to complete both transactions. The one from the seller to the GA resident and from the GA resident to me. No worries. Done deal. All cash exchanged! :D

Ahhh... but I still need a GA resident to make it work!

Could it be sold to a person in a state who just needs a bill of sale? I seem to remember a guy who bought a LoneStar in MO from a guy who won it in an auction and never moved the MO title to his name. The out of state buyer just brought it home to his state and went to the DMV and got it registered. Then did a wonderful rehab on it.

From what I've read, GA is pretty open minded about getting a boat registered there. Truly. Even if it's complicated or there is missing information they seem to find a way. And the owner doesn't even have to be a GA resident. GA provides official documentation to make things happen. But it might be like filling out income tax forms... a pain in the backside even if you do everything right.
