Guys - We have a little problem. You know how a while ago this topic was almost shut down. Our own self-policing is all that kept it going and one of the things we have to watch for is self posting. I'm going to have to edit out the CL links.

A couple from the Atlanta area - http://atlanta.craigslist.org/eat/boa/4536911022.html and http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/boa/4532776231.html
Another couple in the ATL SCs, pricy - http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/boa/4546968156.html and http://atlanta.craigslist.org/wat/boa/4549331323.html

Oh yeah that monster 24' Chief looks like a winner to me, good price too! I can see Sig diving into one of those monsters with a IO to boot.

Yah, the tandem axle setup might need a lil attention on that one though ^^^ The little tires on the rear axle help launching.

Now that one there has got my head kinda spinnin:shocked: I do believe that's the gauge cluster right from the Mustang too eh. A low mileage Holiday is hard to pass up, only 21,552 mi. Did you catch the trailer?
Here's a pretty darn good deal....

If the Islander and Holiday weren't SC tinnies - Over to the TLC topic they go.

The 16 footer is a decent looking project and maybe not too much needed.

Sorry Guys I am strictly an outboard guy. I have been looking at that Chief for a little while I just have no interest in the extra maintenance that goes with an I/O. Plus I have the Jup coming up next.

There is however, a 20SS in South Carolina right now for only $5000, way out of my bottom feeder price range. Y'all just need to wait until I get started on the Jup, I am just hoping that my quality level will be up there with Grandad's and Dozer's.

There have been a few come and go there was a 16SS in Ktown as well for $1500.00

Converting an IO to OB is anything but easy. Lots of engineering metal work. No knee braces, no splashwell and there's that pesky keyhole.

Besides it's blasphemy! :heh:

Could I do it Maybe who knows, the bigger problem is I really have absolutely no desire to do it. I will take my noisy smoky fuel inefficient, low maintenance, easier to operate outboard any day of the week.

Besides at the moment I have bigger fish to fry, including finishing the Sl which I have already come to the conclusion is never going to be complete just kind of a useable mess.

And starting on the Jup.

I have given consideration to using the 115 yammy I have in the shop on the Jup but I just don't think it is the right look for it. Not to mention overpowering by about 30 ponies can't be good for it.

If I could convince the wife, I’d pull the sterndrive off ours and put on a couple old 140 hp 4 cyl smokerudes.... Absolutely nothing like the smell of a 2 stroke about 6am on a cool foggy morning

Listed as a 12ft'r & a 15ft'r... Looks awful long for a 12ftr....

By my count, that's likely a whole flotilla for about $1K

This is the guy I bought my 76 Mariner from back in 2009. WOW! 5 years ago and I am just now getting back to working on it. He told me about this boat back then, I had never seen it. This boat was parked on Lake Lanier. It was a few days before the 4th of July weekend back in 2009.
OH! by the way hello again everyone.

Another old Chief languishing in the northern woods. Looks to be a mid-70's 18'er. Good price. That 60 HP triple might even run. Kind of reminds me of finding my Chieftain a couple of winters ago...right down to it being pre-gutted.

EDIT: where do people come up with these arbitrary scrap values? You're in for a heaping plate of disappointment at the scrap yard if you think you're gonna get $1K out of that.
