But is the "new block" for an OMC stringer, MerCruiser or an outboard? A bit more info would be nice.

Yeah and, whether or not you're an I/O fan, do you really want one in a little 16'?

That's a stolen iboats picture! Plus one shows a 70HP and the other a 150!

That's barato's. Guess he isn't real into fixing it up.

A 16 ft. I/O would be a tight cockpit! No room for fish.

I didn't see the different motors - Good catch EZ.

Sometimes I think we're unrealistically cheap on this site. I think that is an extremely fair price for a water-ready rig. It's got a HECK of a motor on it and a super nice galvanized trailer. I sold my Jupiter for $2250 two years ago and it had a '73 motor with no TnT and a total POS trailer and no top. That's a nice deal. Additionally, I think '83 was the start of the prop-shaft rated motors so that 90 really is fantastic power for that rig.

Oh sheesh, how the heck did I miss that? Yah, there sure aren't any palm trees here in the middle of Michigan:facepalm:

Or the wife caught wind of what he is up to:eek:

My neck of the wood it would only bring $2500, which would be a good deal. So the left coast premium added on, I still think it's a fair price for a guy who lives out there.

Side note: I think derekblues boat sold, this one - http://saginaw.craigslist.org/boa/2576992355.html

I am nearly certain a fella just up the road a piece from me bought it. I saw it sitting in his drive as I went past yesterday.

I agree completely realistically it's going to cost that much to restore a cheap one anyway. If it is solid and water ready with that motor I don't really think it's over priced It would sell a bit cheaper in MI. But mostly because there are so many SC's. I'm going as cheap as I feel I can on the Mariner and feel it will cost me pretty close to 3k without upgrading the motor.

This one has been up a while, might be worth a look for someone looking for a Mariner style rig for Great Lakes trolling. I own a 18 centre console of the same vintage, Sylvan put them up on the super sport hulls so they are a bit larger than the comparable Mariners.
Oh this is mainly for members north of the border.

Re: Starcraft on clist!

I wish someone would explain this one to me. This boat was on CL for years. This year an iboater bought it. Now it's back but with the same ad! Weird.

possible scam?

or using a pic that is dated to portray a better condition?

Re: Starcraft on clist!

My boss in Chicago showed me his CL ad for a 27 foot Maxum he is flipping, so while on Chicago's CL I looked for SC and found this.

That old Mercury is Ka-LEEEN..I love the way they used to chrome these babies up!

A couple lawn chairs and your water ready, Looks like a nice clean little cruiser. Love the Merc 650,

I wonder if I could quickly sell my Merc 500 for $500.00 Hmmm
