Hi all, I just purchased a 1983 StarCraft and am having a little difficulty getting a positive ID on the hull, there isn't a make/model on the title, but the hull id# is STRH99480183A3. I'll post a picture once I get my obligatory 3 posts in. I believe it to be an Islander but am not 100%. Also anyone have any advise for viewing the photobucket photos from the archives or is that a no go. I will probably be replacing the transom sometime in the near future (outboard) and am looking at possibly repowering at some point but the 235hp Johnson on there is running pretty good. Does anyone know where the rating plate would normally be located? I haven't found it yet and it may just be gone from a past restoration. Thanks for any input.

Any thoughts on the Ideal hp range for a newer outboard? Forgot to mention above that it's the 22 foot model? 4 stroke equivalent too heavy for the transom or doable? I'd like to be at the upper end of the spectrum.

She looks pretty good in the pic, Mad.

I would imagine the weight difference between the 235 Jonny and a new 4 stroke isn't all that great. Often the rating plate is around the remote control or on the side panel.

Try this for viewing kidnapped PB pics, it's been working but no telling how long - http://forums.iboats.com/forum/other...9#post10480979
