Starcraft American 18 - enginge size

just for curiosity - does anyone know, which was the top engine fitted into that boat? Mine ist he Mercruiser IL 6, but I was just wondering.

I saw one on ebay last year with a 302 Ford V8, 188 horsepower.
Looked very nice and in great condition alas it had a cracked transom and sold for $300
