"...The thrusters are fueled by liquid hydrazine, which is turned into gases and released in tens-of-milliseconds-long puffs..."

We used to call those "mouse farts."
The combustion chamber is lined with a catalyst, which sets off the hydrazine when it's released into the chamber, causing the thrust. I'm glad that they got it to work. Troubleshooting from 15 billion miles away is pretty tough. 🤪

I was lucky enough to be working at JPL when Voyager 2 flew by Uranus. We not only got to see it go by, we were also gifted photos from the event. Pretty cool stuff. 😎

Have watched everything Si-Fi since being a kid. Always got me thinking of possibilities

Old Star Trek episode where the planet was at war for a thousand years but there were no actual fighting. Computer's were used who lived and who died after each battle. Each side used a desintagrator (spelling) to kill those who came up on the list from each side

Kirk destroyed the Computer and they were worried that there would be actual fighting and blood shed. That was the point and that is one of two shows I watched as a kid that shaped my life today. The other show was Mash 4077

Remember when Shatner was on SNL and addressed the Startrek convention? He was right.
^ ^ ^ Why I love to watch Galaxy Quest.

But I still like quite a bit of the Star Trek franchise. There's actually even some good fan-made stuff out there.

My son, during his infant stage, wouldn't go to sleep at night until he heard the theme from MASH play ...
