Stalls when shifting.

When I shift my Tohatsu todi 90 into foward or reverse it abruptly stalls like the prop is stuck. This happens intermittently. Any ideas?

It's a TDLI 90 HP motor, right ? Does the display shows any code when doing that ? Does the prop spins freely with hand when at neutral and motor is OFF?

What is your actual model? Is this a recent problem? What codes are in the ECU?

I will check codes when I get home. Prop spins freely. Sombody told me that the switch that momentarily stalls the engine to assist the shifting gears is bad. ????

There isn't any such switch.

That’s what I thought. I am out in the sticks. Very limited cell no internet.

If you are loosing power on one cylinder due to fouled plug, plugged injector, etc., etc. the motor may well start and idle pretty good, but when put in gear/under load it could very well stall out......are all your cylinders firing now?

Yes runs great. Good top end. The boat preformed flawlessly yesterday. It stalled one time shortly after startup. Great for the rest of the day.
